Did you know that the writer Higashino Keigo is the one of the most widely searched subjects by Daegu University's students in the Library Homepage of Daegu University?

Higashino Keigo is a Japanese writer. He is now a bestseller and one of the most famous novelists in Japan. He was born in Osaka in 1985. After he graduated from Osaka Prefecture University, he worked as an engineer and sometimes he wrote a novel, and finally he became a full-time author. In 1985, he got an Edogawa Rampo award for his book 'After-School', and he became a famous author. He published many kinds of artworks such as mystery, suspense, and fantasy novels. Many of his artworks were adapted into Tv dramas and films, and received lots of interest and love from the public.

'Masquerade Eve' and 'Masquerade Hotel' are two of his novels. These two books seem special because they are not made-up serial stories like the first and second books we wrote, and are made in sequence using another name. Also, the point that the two books' publication years are different seems special, too.

'Masquerade Hotel' is a full-length novel by Higashino Keigo. The Masquerade Hotel in the story provides the highest quality of services to its guests, so the hotel is famous in the area. This high quality soon causes the hotel to become a scene of serial murders and police investigator Nitta and hotelier Naomi solve the killings together.

'Masquerade Eve' is set prior to the events in 'Masquerade Hotel'. 'Masquerade Eve' is composed of four short stories. The four stories are each independent but they are complete one configuration because of the fact that all of the stories express the main characters, Nitta and Naomi, growing gradually. It also has the fun of a near relationship, in the situation where two characters do not know each other. They have a point of contact but they do not meet. Finally, the last story in 'Masquerade Eve' becomes the subplot of 'Masquerade Hotel'.

Maybe you would like to read these books after reading my article, but you do not have an idea which one to read first? In my case I read 'Masquerade Hotel' first and afterwards 'Masquerade Eve', but the two books do not follow on from each other, so I do not want to recommend the order of reading the two books. It's up to you. Read the book that enthralls you first. Thank you for reading this article. Good bye.
