University’s New Student Council President

 Hello. L.L.F readers! Did you vote in our university election? I wrote our new student council president this time. I talked with him. He is the 34th student council president, Jae-Hyung Jo. Here, you can read about him, including his election pledge information.

  Q1.  How did you feel winning the election? Say a few words on being elected. 
-It feels like a dream. I prepared about seven months. During this process, there were some hard periods. But we worked diligently every day. I think many students know that. I am in good spirits. I do my best for our university and our students.

  Q2.  What do you have to say about your election pledges?
-When we were preparing our election pledges, I thought about what is most inconvenient for students. Personally, many people don’t know where the health center is on campus and suffer from problems of the QR attendance program. I think if these little things are taken care of, we will have a more comfortable school life.       Besides, we will have scholarships, welfare, various cultural events  and volunteer activities. To be more concrete, we plan to make a ‘Blue Campus Scholarship’. This system will help with basic living security for students who receive over a 3.5 GPA.
 Second, for more smooth communication, We will make a student affairs work chatting room like Kakao talk, Facebook and student complaint letter box. Through this, we will share our university’s schedule and we will expect quick feedback.
 Moreover, we will install a shade canopy at the last stop bus station in summer. We will give umbrellas and feminine hygiene products whenever they are needed.

   Q3. What’s this student councils’ name and meaning? What’s next for you?
 -Our student councils’ name is ‘Same Mind’. This means we always have the same mind with you (our students). My relationship’s goal is not always to be a good or great man, but warm. Our council also makes a warm student council which feels your needs as my business. We make an effort to become warmhearted students. From this time forward, I will work to achieve my election pledges step by step and I will make an effort to talk with students more than before.

  Q4. Do you have anything else to say for our students and university?
-The temperature drops and cold wind brushes the tip of your nose. Winter is coming fast like there’s no autumn. I hope you have a warm winter with your beloved lover this year. 
In short, I will make efforts to promote the students’ welfare and rights. We will bear in our mind that the student council’s right is to better understand our university students, as many as we can. 
  And you know what they say, “To think that it is other people’s business, everything is a hard chore. However to think that it is my business, even if it is a hard chore, we feel it as light and do it willingly.” In this vein, we will work with our students willingly as my business. 
  I worked very hard during seven months. But as hard as it was, I’m eager to do this. Fortunately, as much as I wanted, I had a good showing. 
  Student council president is not the highest position of students. I am just here on behalf of our students. Even though this position is good and high, that’s meaningless without our students. 
  Let’s go together and then I will make sure that we will develop further next year. Thank you.
