Do you know about the new 'Happy Dormitory'?

Near the east side of the main gate, the school is constructing the 11th building of the dormitory called 'Happy Dormitory'. The purpose of building the 'Happy Dormitory' is to implement the same dormitory facilities on the west side of campus for balanced development. The 'Happy Dormitory' will be able to accommodate about 600 students. The building will go from the first basement level to the 11th floor with 307 rooms, administrative facilities and student convenience facilities. The construction period is from August 14th, 2019 to February 3rd, 2021 for a total of 540 days.

I talked to several Daegu University students to get their thoughts about building a new dormitory. Let's hear what one of the Daegu University students thinks about the 'Happy Dormitory'!

Q1. Have you heard about the 'Happy Dormitory'? How much do you know about the 'Happy Dormitory'?

Yes, I heard about the 'Happy Dormitory' on the app 'Everytime'. I heard that the dormitory will be constructed near the front gate.

Q2. What do you think about the 'Happy Dormitory'?

I think it will be convenient for many students who have a college near the front gate. I have heard that it takes about 30 minutes to walk from the dormitory to the Engineering and Environmental Colleges. And most of all, as the number of students who can live in the dormitory increases, students who are not freshmen will be given a lot of opportunities to enter the dorms. Also, I think students who live in studios near the front gate will be able to live a safer life because the dormitory is built there.

Q3. What do you want in a new dormitory and what do you hope will be an improvement on the current dormitories?

I would like to have a place like a book lounge where dormitory students can study and do assignments at night while living in the dormitory. I live in a dormitory now and I often think that the interior of the dormitory is not clean. Therefore, I would like to change the cleaning company for cleaning.

Q4. What do you feel about this new dormitory as a student at Daegu University?

I think students will be able to enjoy a more convenient school life from the new dorms. In addition, I hope that many problems such as amentities and school shuttle bus times will be solved step by step.
