The “DU Reading Encouragement Contest(북돋음)” conducted by Changpa Library is progressing for about a month from September 2 to October 18. This is part of the university innovation support project, and it is to read a book and submit a book report for ‘100 cultural books in Daegu University’.

The cultural books include 19 on philosophy, 13 on art, 17 on history, 14 on society, 17 on science, and 20 on literature. The title of the books can be found in the attached file of the 2019 DU Reading Encouragement Contest.

Application forms can also be downloaded from the '2019 DU Read Encouragement Contest'. Book reports should be within three A4 pages and have the file name as "DU Reading Encouragement - (Student Number, Name)" along with the contest cover and consent form for collection of personal information. You should then send an e-mail (okok@deugu.ac.kr) to complete the application.

The first 30 entries will be provided with 15,000 won worth of souvenirs per person. Other prizes include for the highest award (one person) 300,000 won, the excellence award (three people) 200,000 won, the participation award (six people) 100,000 won and 50,000 won to the runners-up (twenty people). In addition, certificates of merit will be presented to all winners.

The submitted manuscript will not be returned, the copyright on the manuscript will be held by the Changpa Library, and the public charge and tax for the prize money will be the winner's responsibilities. In addition, the prize-winning pieces will be posted on the website of the Changpa Library or included in an information package that will be published later.
