Mass shootings are running rampant across the United States. Last month, in El paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio, mass shootings were carried out which left a lot of people dead and injured. In the aftermath of those incidents, confrontations occurred between the local governmant and a particular organizaiton.

The National Rifle Association (NRA) sued over San Francisco for declaring them a ‘domestic terrorist organization, asserting that the government had infringed upon their free speech rights for political reasons.

The San Francisco board of supervisors released a resolution with respect to the NRA’s advocacy of the gun possession. They stated that the NRA is arming terrorists and taking attention off their local gun violence prevention programs. In this regard, they regulated the NRA’s business relations and re-examined the contracts.

Meanwhile, the NRA says the city is trying to blacklist anyone associated with them. Many people are concerned with the epidemic of gun violence. In light of these concerns, gun control has to be properly enacted, however, the NRA has always exerted the authority as a lobbying group possessing political influence. In addition, US president Donald Trump had a discussion with the chief of the NRA, Wayne LaPierre. Trump solidified his stance, attributing the cause of recent tragedies to individual’s mental health.
