Since the Seventh-day Adventist Chruch prohibits taking exams on religious Sabbaths, the plaintiff requested a change of interview date, but the request was rejected. So, he filled a lawsuit to cancel the rejection.
The court ruled that the disposition of changing the date and time of the interview was an infringement of basic rights contrary to the principle of proportionality and equality.
A Supreme Court official said, "It is significant in that it clarified the scope of the administration's consitutional obligation so that minority Adventists aren't unfairly discriminated against due to their religious beliefs."
