A few weeks ago, the Busan Fireworks Festival was held. This was already the 8th show in the festival's history. Busan is not alone in holding festivals; there are festivals held all over the country. Now, I want to introduce what festivals are held when and where.

Busan Fireworks Festival

A celebration concert by popular Korean wave stars, a street parade that includes a military band, a road show before the festival, a fireworks concert and the Busan Multi Fireworks Show are the highlights from the festival! The Busan Multi Fireworks Show, scheduled for the 27th, was delayed because of stormy weather. But the flame display-with a love theme -was fantastic on stage at the Gwangan Bridge. A tip! The theme of the Busan Fireworks Festival is different every year, so check the theme and enjoy the excellent festival.

Gwangju Biennale

This local festival has been held in Gwangju every year! The 2012 Gwangju Biennale had the theme "Round Table" and held an international exhibition. The "Round Table" theme means a forum that respects and discusses the beauty of different cultures. It was a cosmopolitan festival that many artists and authors from about 40 countries took part in! Numerous works of art improved the dignity of the festival.

The festival was established in 1995 to pay tribute to the memory of the 5.18 Gwangju Democratization Movement and it is an international modern art biennale that is the oldest, and most widely known in Asia.

The Bay of Suncheon Reed Festival

The Suncheon Reed Festival is in its 14th year. You can say it is a national event that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Environment, and the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs etc support. The land of life! The mountains, the fields, the rivers, the mud flat, the salt marsh and the reeds comet ogether. Its fundamental subject is sharing the worth and preservation of ecology. So it is not too much to say that this festival is a global masterpiece eco-fair. There are a broad variety of ecology tour participation programs and various other events such as a folk concert, an exposition etc.The hooded crane, the sand crab and the mudskipper are the symbolic icons in this festival.

Seosan

Chrysanthemum Festival

What do you associate with autumn?

Chrysanthemums may come to mind. How about visiting this festival if you want to smell the sweet fragrance of the flowers? Maybe, you will be able to feel serenity by taking a stroll while the chrysanthemums are in full bloom.

A variety of chrysanthemums are on display as works of art. And cultural performances such as street concerts and Samulnori take place. There are experience programs like picking chrysanthemums etc. Don't miss the chance to buy specialties of Seosan such as chrysanthemum tea and sweet potatoes. A joyful festival that flatters the senses!

Seoul Dance Festival

The festival is in its 33rd year. It is the oldest dance festival in the country dating from 1979. And it is an artistic dance festival representing Korea. This festival takes the form of a contest that embraces all genres including Korean dance, modern dance, ballet etc. Audiences are given the chance to enjoy the best stage, and dancers are given the opportunity to recognize the talent and introduce themselves with their own work through the contest method.

To properly enjoy the festival, you couldn't do better than to see the opening and closing ceremonies.
