Mentor Training Program for Multi-cultural Students Many people participated in a recent mentoring activity. It was prepared by the Korean Student Aid Foundation (KOSAF). It was a hope camp of mentoring, and inter-regional training. The number of mentors which worked was 5,000 nationally. Above all, the Korean Student Aid Foundation delegated 100 mentors. They instructed well all of their participants. The elected mentors were called ‘superb mentors.’ There was multi-cultural training and an encouragement ceremony for superb mentors in February. KOSAF supervised the ceremony. There were many training programs. First, experts who were affiliated with multi-cultural centers gave lectures. They explained various ways to inspire awareness of multi-cultural societies. Mentors can understand diverse cultures. Also, they did student group inquiries. They talked about their mentoring . They introduced their mentees and activity methods. They feltempathy for the stories of team members. There was time to meet real multi-cultural students and an operator on duty who affiliated with multi-cultural centers. multi-cultural students introduced their Korean life. They asked mentors to get rid of their prejudice. Prejudice can make their lives difficult. So she asked everyone to see multi-cultural students as they are. Superb mentors discussed the matter reasonably. And they announced their discussion results. All superb mentors can develop their multi-cultural realizations. Next day, they had a meeting time. It was a 2014 working plan for superb mentors. Thanks to all members, the result was a good working schedule. Each member made a plan too. And there was an encouragement ceremony for superb mentors. KOSAF gave away scholarships and promotion certificates. Besides KOSAF afforded sufficient teaching material. It can help superb mentors to operate well. One hundred mentors interacted with one another. They had an information network to establish this opportunity. They will work on promoting this activity. It is essential to have new points of view about other cultures. So superb mentors will promote their objective to implement it. As promotions and activities of mentoring spreads, making a good multi-cultural society, there will be less prejudice.
