Furthermore, the rising star Hailee Steinfeld, who was nominated as an Academy candidate for ‘The Brave’, James Kimberley Corden who played the role of Paul Potts in ‘One Chance’, Catherine Ann keener who earned an Academy Award and won the New York Critics Association Awards and so on all appear. Movie director ‘John Carney’ who became a worldwide sensation with ‘Once’ looks set to make another success story. Distinguished New York streets and other different places match music of various genres, and express the characters’ mentality, impress the viewer and create a sensation. The varied landscape of New York is used as the background of a single scene in which the band sing with different close-ups. It also accurately creates the sounds of the place, and delivers the feeling of a trip to the audience. New York City is the same huge size in ‘Begin Again’ as the city in real life. The director John Carney rode around the streets of New York to find a place where the scene with Dan and Gretta would unfold in the film. John Carney wanted to make a movie with music different from the original work ‘Once’, so he included his past experience as a professional musician. He said, “‘Begin Again’ has many more stories than ‘Once’” He also expressed confidence for ‘Begin Again’. In addition he disclosed, “we created a song that can expose the character facing any situation in life. When finished it was a nice song and it is successful.” So the lyrics and beautiful melodies in the movie will present great satisfaction to the audience.
