Have you seen the movie 'Sully'? Its sub-title is 'A Miracle of Hudson River'. This movie premiered on September 28th, 2016 in Korea.

  Sully is about the true story of a plane crash. At 3:27p.m on 15th January 2009, the Control Tower at La Guardia in New York, USA received a radio message that US Airways Flight 1549 had crashed into a flock of birds twice. This happened about 1 minute after takeoff. The accident caused the engine of the airplane to explode, and the airstream became unstable. The plane captain, Sully, decided to try an emergency landing on the Hudson River. His consummate skill put the plane down on the river safely. Rescue teams arrived at the position rapidly, so all passengers and crew(155 people) survived and were not badly injured. All of the people said, "It was a miracle of Hudson river.".

  The movie continues based on this true story, and shows the behind the scenes story of the accident and Sully. Right after the airplane accident, Sully has to participate in a hearing. During the hearing people inquired about why he did not follow the guide, and they harbor suspicion against his decision. At first Sully did not doubt his intuition, but his belief started to crumble due to the examiners continuously questioning him closely and the stress about the accident. This movie really reflects the feelings of his inner mind such as fear, trauma, and chaos.

  After watching this movie I was both pleased and touched, because the movie had a happy ending. But at the same time, I was very sad because the Sewol ferry accident came to mind. If the captain of the Sewol ferry had felt a responsibility about his passengers and decided quickly to conduct an evacuation and alert it to the passengers like the captain Sully, our minds would not be so extremely hurt and more passengers could have survived. As well as this, if the National Maritime Police did not shift responsibility and had coped rapidly with the problem of rescuing, we could have got better results.

  While watching the movie, I also felt that Sully was not the only hero in this accident - as he said himself in the movie. This movie shows the necessity of full cooperation. Of course, the captain Sully did his best to rescue the passengers and he did great work; he deserved to become a hero. In my thought however, if the rescue team did not come to rescue the passengers punctually, maybe they would have taken their last drink in spite of Sully's effort. As well as this, if the crew members did not reassure the passengers and alert them to fasten their seat belts, and if the passengers did not keep order and help others but selfishly try to survive on their own, could they have survived so well? I think everyone related to this accident deserve to become heroes.

  I hope that many Korean people watch this movie, are reminded of the Sewol ferry accident, and we try as Koreans to make an integrated system for rescuing people or a sure method for not suffering this accident one more time.
