·ù´Ù¿ø | ½ÂÀÎ2016.12.17 23:22

Recently a political affair has occurred and so many politicians, citizens, and even foreigners are surprised. I'll tell you about this affair.

The affair begins with The Hankyoreh reports on Sun-Sil Choi, which took office as Foundation Mir's and Foundation K Sport's directorship. Owing to this report, the Federation of the Korean Industries (KFI), a powerful interest group made up of rich members , donates about 800 billion won for free to that particular foundation. The foundation's process of establishment proceeds so quickly that the media starts paying attention. The media wants to call her as a witness during the administration. Afterwards, Korean citizens and politicians begin to have concerns about emerging corruption scandals. However, as Jung-Hyun Lee, a representative of the Saenuri Party, blocks choosing her as a witness, the affair looks like it is coming to a conclusion. But apart from choosing a witness, the media aggressively reports the case that Choi frequently went back and forth to Germany after Hankyoreh's coverage. Finally the affair changes to a national event due to JTBC's coverage about a significant secret national document. In response, the President and the Chief Presidential Secretary One-Jong Lee deny that this is true and try changing the political situation by a 10th discussion of amendment to the Constitution.

JTBC responds by revealing the discovery of her tablet PC and leaked significant state secrets beforehand. This causes many people and the media to become furious. TV Joseon seems to have waited for this moment, and discloses video about Sun-Sil Choi. Cheongwadae admits the situation, therefore Korean citizens become even more shocked and furious than before.

When you go anywhere or search anything, you will find many people talking about Sun-Sil Choi, As many people raged, the President made a public apology; however this apology was a filmed TV broadcast and didn't include Q&A session for journalists. This written apology was discredited due to whether the document was written by an influential person and people's anger grew even greater.

After that, the affair began to become known nationally. A lot of the media dealt with the affair, and a lot of professors and students demanded that the whole country. The affair has continued until now, which has caused the President's approval ration to decrease to the lowest in ger term in office.

Massive protests gathered at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, pushing for the president's resignation. University students in Korea have started raising their voice by announcing their opinion on the state of affairs. Daegu University also began to speak out in the form of individuals as well as groups.

Initially, professors from Daegu University's Kyoung-san campus gathered together and insisted on the resignation of the president, saying "punish those who manipulated important government affairs and restore democracy." More than one hundred professors signed the declaration and asserted that "the president must get a suitable punishment for the disgraceful things she has done in front of the nation and its citizens." They also strongly claimed that "although it is late, we have a right to firmly ask for the government's responsibility and recover this country back to a normal state."

Moreover, students in Daegu University gathered voluntarily, instead of just waiting for the General Student's Organization's stance and its opinion of the state of affairs. Students of school clubs, or even individual students put up hand-written posters urging for the president's resignation.

"Daegu University's Declaration of the State of Affairs Bureau" has also been established by students who were willing to make a declaration. Declaration of the State of Affairs Bureau's member, Park Na-Ri a student majoring international relations, said that "students should wake up, reopen their eyes to the importance of politics." She also emphasized that "students should know that when you look deep into history, one person's voice has been the big turning point for changing history."
