Recently, an article titled ‘Five diseases which are the most common in 20s’ has attracted a lot of attention. One of the things that people especially noticed was hemorrhoids that held the second rank.

Hemorrhoids are the most common anal disease among young people in Korea. Common symptoms are blood vessels around the anus and connective tissue that protrude or bleed. It can be caused by constipation.

 

1. The typical cause, constipation

Constipation is one type of digestive trouble. Common symptoms are not enough movement of the intestines for three or more days, not feeling refreshed after defecation.

Generally, women suffer from constipation more frequently compared with men. These day students who have sedentary lifestyles, and younger generations having unhealthy diets suffer from this disease.

 

2. Cause of constipation

Constipation is caused by irregular eating habits, life style, stress and lack of exercise. Especially young people are free and live away from a well-regulated life. They also have unhealthy eating habits such as irregular meals, eating instant food, and drinking.

 

3. How to solve constipation

In order to treat constipation, it is helpful to reduce flour, spicy, and salty food. Also eating food with high-fiber such as vegetables, and fruits is important.

According to a recent study of people in their 20s, the recommended daily intake of vegetables is 350grams. But the above graph showed that the averages twenty something eats just 255.6grams meaning they do not get the recommended average daily intake. At the same time, the colon polyps discovery rate has been increasing rapidly. So low daily amounts of dietary fiber can cause many diseases (colon cancer, polyps etc.) as well as constipation.

Another way to avoid constipation is drinking enough water. If we drink water on getting up, it is effective to supply moisture in our intestines and can prevent constipation.

 

Many people usually think that people in their 20s are healthy. So they are unconcerned about their health care. But Korean diseases have been changing to be more similar to western countries over the last 30 years. For this reason, many doctors suggest having regular eating habits from childhood. Many young people started to develop health issues.

So if you are suffering from constipation, change your unhealthy lifestyle. As with all diseases, the best way to prevent diseases is to develop good living habits.
