A Book to Read Before I Go to SleepBook&Movie

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism carried out a survey on reading habits with 6,000 adults and 3329 students in 2017. The results showed that 4 out of 10 adults have not read a book in the past year. The most common reasons for not reading a book were ' busy', followed 'busy using the Internet or cell phone games' and 'don't want to read books or not in the habit of reading books.'

The average number of readers has fallen, but the total reading time actually increased. This is because avid readers read more books last year than in the previous year. In the case of adult readers, the lower the age, the higher the academic clique, and the higher the income, the higher the reading rate. Also, unlike paper books, reading online books is on the rise. The rise in the reading of online novels is attributed to the increased availability of content via the Internet.

So, I would like to introduce a book to you. That book is '11 p.m.' written by Hwang Gyeongsin. The book includes 120 essays that span autumn to winter, spring, and summer. We can feel the sense of each season as we read. Each essay includes the date it was written and takes the form of a diary entry by the author.

On page 31 the author writes, ‘It's forgotten to you, but it is like a tattoo to me.’ The passage describes relationships that are too far or too close. In another entry on page 177 he writes, ‘Like sorrow amplifies joy, despair makes happiness complete.’ Through this passage, the author talks about a precarious hope that someone planted. On page 110 he begins, 'Today becomes yesterday, yesterday becomes yesterday, the day before yesterday becomes the past.' Through this passage, he expresses how unpredictable life is yet as if it were a flower blooming and falling, we have passed it well and have overcome.

Online books that are easy to read are good, but I recommend reading this book before going to bed tonight. I think you may solve a problem about your worries by reading this book.
