Election means people that have suffrage can vote for someone who will work in government, To vote means to submit a ballor when we have an election and determine either yes or no for elected officials. In other words, voting is one of our rights to elect representatives for us in government. The important point is the vote, a big tool for democracy, has a main purpose to exist to create a society for us.

 

On May 10, the election for president of Daegu University came into effect in the Main Building. The 12th president of university election was held in the first round from 9am to 3pm and in the second round from 4pm to 6pm. As a result of the election, Ki, Sang-ho, a professor at the Creative Convergence undergraduate studies, won the election by a majority of 111. He has offered to pledge 'Public type private universities', drawing attention to future moves.

 

After the election of the president of our university, On June 13 an important election will be held in South Korea. It is the 7th time the whole country will hold simultaneous local elections. It's the election for people who will be superintendents of education, mayors, governors, the magistrate of a county, the headman of a ward, provincial councilors, municipal councilors, proportional representation provincial councilors, and proportional representation municipal council that represent the area I live in. The election will happen at the same time and receive a total of seven ballots.

 

This time, four ballots for Sejong and five ballots for Jeju are excepted. You can vote from 6am to 6pm, standard on Election Day, and people over 19 years old who were born before June 14, 1999 can vote. Unlike the voting for the president and a member of the National Assembly, you can't vote if you are overseas or on board a ship. In addition, foreigners over 19 years old as of the election date, according to the Immigration Control Act, can vote if they are listed on a register of alien registration for the pertinent local governments and after having passed 3 years since they acquired their stay qualification according to law.

 

Those who can't vote on June 13 can make an early vote. Early Voting is available from 6am to 6pm on Friday June 8, and the same time on Saturday June 9. Voting can be done anywhere in the country without a separate register through an installed polling place.

 

 

Before the early voting on June 8 - June 9 and regular voting on June 13, we need to check the candidates and election pledges, and we should have a careful attitude when we choose a workhorse for our region. Also, don't forget to bring along identification cards, driver's licenses, passoports and so on.
