Recently, universities have special educational goals and talents for each school, and they make them for the development of schools. So, what does our school have that is different from other universities?

First of all, we will look at the concept of the foundation of Daegu University and find something special for our school. Daegu University was founded in 1946 as a parent of Daegu Blind Children's School, and strives to realize this concept with 'Love, Light and Freedom' based on its leadership in special education, rehabilitation science and social welfare.

Especially, the human resources award was established through the analysis of the environment and ability of the university to achieve the three educational goals: capable professionals, leading welfare personnel, and progressive democratic citizens.

As a result, our university established the human resources award for communication and dedication called DU-HEART.

What is DU-HEART?

To achieve educational goals, Daegu University's Human Resources Award is a DU-HEART talent for communication and dedication, which means (Humanity + Enthusiasm + creAtivity + Relationship + Trust) talent 'creatively converging' with the development of commitment and communication.

And based on these awards, we've created a customized system for students: the DU-HEART system.

Have you heard about the DU-HEART system?

It is a system that can be unfamiliar to some students.

There are five core competences: volunteerism, autonomy, creativity, communication, and collaboration in our university. It is a system that grants certification to students with the five core competences of our school.

These Heart Indexes can be obtained through curriculum, comparative activities and self-directed activities such as certificates and foreign language tests. In particular, it is important to balance the five key competencies to take.

The more you participate, the more you can get a scholarship of up to one million won. And you can get certificates and portfolios for graduation.

The DU-HEART System calculates the key competence index every semester.

The curriculum ability index is calculated from the results of the first and second semesters of the year. And the comparative and self-directed key competence index is based on activity participation over the period.
