“I’m truly in love with you and I will fight to get you.” Like every relationship in our lives, many couples also have struggles with trivial matters, and make issues with them. The L.L.F made a questionnaire to see people’s tendencies in certain situations. From November 7to November 12, Daegu University students responded to L.L.F Love Campus Survey and interviews.

Girlfriend: Hey love!! I had a fantastic day! The café was so beautiful

Boyfriend: Yeah! We took a lot of cute selfies!

Girlfriend: Can I upload the photos on Instagram?

Boyfriend: Sure! You must get a lot of hearts!

Girlfriend: Maybe.. Why didn’t you post the couple photos we took together? Are you ashamed of me?

Boyfriend: What are you talking about..?!

This conversation between a couple shows how many boyfriends or girlfriends brag about their relationship on social media even though one of them don’t want to do that.

 

L.L.F asked Daegu university students whether or not it is mandatory to post couple pictures from November 7, 2018 to November 12, 2018. Almost a quarter (15%) of 93 students answered that couples must post their pictures on social media. Almost 82% of 93 students thought that they should not be forced to post their photos. Two of the 93 students attached their stickers on the line between “Yes”and “No”, which we can probably guess means that it depends on the situation or the person they love.

 

“Social media opens a door to communicate with friends, family or even my neighbor, and by posting our couple photos they can see how we love each other. It also leads to taking responsibility” one man in Daegu University replied to this question. On the other hand, a woman in Daegu University said the opposite. “I need privacy and I want to post and make my own board. Also, I am worried about people’s gossip after we break up.”

Boyfriend: Hey sweetie, I had so much fun today.

Girlfriend: Sodid I! Umm, I’ve got something to ask you about.

Boyfriend: Feel free to ask, my darling.

Girlfriend: To be honest, I am supposed to go xxx with one of my male friends…

Girlfriend: I won't go if it bothers you.

Boyfriend: It’s not really bothering me... but -

 

125 voters participated in this survey. There were three different options replacing ‘xxx’ including meal&café, movie, and drink, and a fourth option which was ‘none of the above’. “None of the above” won the most votes with 56. The meal&café followed with 45. Each of the remaining options got approximately 10 votes each.

 

 

When we collected this result of the survey, we wondered why people choose these answers. Therefore, we did an interview with Daegu University students regarding the reasons for the answers.

 

A student (woman): I will only allow him to have a meal. Of course, it’s unpleasant! I sometimes have dinner with one of my male friends, so I’m cool with that. A drink may cause poor results when a man and a woman are drinking together. Also, he can watch movies with me, so there’s no excuse for that one!

 

B student (man): Not a single interaction should be made with men I’ve never heard of. Drinking is not worth to talk about! Movies are totally unacceptable because it is about interacting with emotion.

Girlfriend: Honey, remember when we ate meat with Jihyeon..?

Boyfriend: Yes, yes meat what? Tell me.

Girlfriend: It’s not a big problem. I just saw you give a perilla leaf to Ji hyeon -but I don’t like to tell you this because you’ll think I am a narrow-minded girlfriend.

Girlfriend: Why did you do that? I just wonder about that.

Boyfriend: Oh, did I do that? No, it didn’t mean anything to me.

Girlfriend: Let alone giving a perilla leaf to her, why did you put it on her dish? I think you usually are interested in her.

Boyfriend: Oh, my god. Why did you think that?

 

Regarding the conversation above, we did a survey about lover’s warmth. 101people in total answered this survey.

 

45 people chose the first answer. The first answer was‘It is possible to give a perilla leaf to her/him. 4 people chose the second answer. The second answer was ‘It is possible to put it on her/his dish.’ We can see the lowest percentage of this survey in the second answer. 52 people choose the final answer. The final answer was ‘It is impossible to do both.’ The final answer was the most popular answer from people who did the survey.

 

When we collected this result of the survey, we wondered why people chose these answers. Therefore, we did an interview with Daegu University students regarding the reasons for the answers.

 

A student (woman) said “I chose the first answer. If my friend has difficulty in reaching for a perilla leaf herself, I think that my boyfriend is willing to help her. However, the situation where he puts a perilla leaf on her dish is impossible to me. This is misleading behavior.”

 

B student (man) said “I chose the second answer because I have a jealous personality. The situation regarding helping to take a perilla leaf for him is impossible to me. Maybe, she has a mind to be interested in him.
