A fragmentary thought on Student Membership Training
±èÀ¯¹Î | ½ÂÀÎ2019.03.27 21:59

In April, a lot of departments go to MT. MT means membership training. If freshmen go to membership training, the relationship with seniors and juniors is better than before. Some Korean students think MT means Masigo Tohago. That means drinking, vomit and repeat in Korean. However, it is a membership training. Before going to membership training, what do freshmen have to prepare? Or what should they know?

Membership training promotes the relationship between students in the same department. Therefore, the freshmen need consideration and cooperation. Freshmen and seniors participate in membership training together. Who participates in membership training? The department's student council, a few seniors and a lot of freshmen.

What happens during membership training? The students go to another region like Gyeongju. They usually spend three days on the trip. They do sports and drink on the first day. There is talking with seniors and the freshmen's talent show on second day. The last day is going back home. The exact content of the membership training is different in each department. Therefore,   this explanation is just one example.

What are the positive things and negative things about membership training. The positive thing is being close with the seniors. There are lots of chances to talking with the seniors so the freshmen can hear great tips about campus life. Another positive thing is being close with colleagues. Because they spend time preparing for MT, they are closer than before.

The negative thing is the freshmen can't spend their time the way they want to. They have to prepare a talent show. They sometimes go to their home or dormitory at 10:00 p.m. As a result, the freshmen are tired and busy. Also, membership training sometimes takes place near the midterm exams. This is bad culture. However, the freshmen don't know that it is incorrect. And then the bad culture is passed down. Hazing has to disappear.

As you have seen, membership training helps students become closer than before. Despite the bas points, students cans spend time with seniors and learn more about university life. If freshmen want to have a special time with others in their department, we recommend going to membership training.
