Daegu University DUBiotech is launching a new water brand called ‘Haru8.’ The name ‘Haru8’ refers to keeping fit by drinking 8 glasses of water a day. Water accounts for three-fourths of our bodies, and we lose 2.5 L every day. So, drinking 8 glasses of water (more than 2L of water) a day is a good habit to keep fit.

Water looks the same on the surface, but it tastes different depending on its ingredients, and there are different ingredients that are absorbed into the body. The water in ‘Haru8’s is sourced from Gyeongsangbuk Yeongju Punggi-eup Sobaek-ro 2141-16, which is located at the foot of Mt. Sobaeksan, in the Baekdudaegan Mountain Range. Water produced there is naturally rich in minerals such as potassium, calcium and magnesium because of it passes thorough natural filters in the granite and gneiss zone.

‘Haru8’ comes in two sizes: 500ml and 2L. The price of the 500ml bottle is 300 won and the price of the 2 liters bottle is 1,000 won. ‘Haru8’ can be bought only by phone at DUBiotech. Students and faculty at Daegu University can purchase ‘Haru8’ at the prices listed above.

DUBiotech is promoting ‘Haru8’ in several ways. ① When students and faculty need mineral water for school and external events ② When alumni, need mineral water for the organization and group events. ③ When parent needs mineral water for individual events, such as a social gathering ④ When local governments and related organization need mineral water for various events (University-local society win-win purpose).

‘Haru8’ is also aimed at improving conditions in local communities in order to improve education and university development. We want to use ‘Haru8’ as an ambassador for Daegu University and as a way for the university to coexist with the local community. ‘Haru8’ provides an excellent way for Daegu University to share with the local community and also allows the local community to show its appreciation for Daegu University.
