If you want to ask what today's food is, you should not say, "What's the menu?" but rather, "What's on the menu?". In Korea, the term 'menu' is often used to represent food. However, menu originally means the menu itself on which the types of food are written. Each food written on the menu is an item. Therefore, "This restaurant has a lot of menu" is also an awkward expression and we should say, "This restaurant has a lot of items on the menu."
