Our university held a non-face-to-face graduation ceremony on August 21 to prevent the infection of COVID-19. The ceremony was held jointly by the graduate school and the undergraduate department at the auditorium in the Seongsan Hall.

The ceremony for each college was not held separately. Graduation certificates can be obtained from the office of the relevant department. Therefore, students can feel quite different from the usual graduation ceremony.

There are students who gather with friends and visit a school in twos or threes to receive their diplomas. They also take pictures in front of the school by borrowing a graduation dress and a cap. Among these students we could hear the opinion of graduates of this year who have positive thoughts about the non-face-to-face graduation ceremony.

One student said that she doesn't think it's necessary to have a face-to-face graduation ceremony, and that the graduation ceremony is for wearing a graduation cap and taking pictures with their friends. However, one thing that was a little bit regrettable about the non-face-to-face graduation ceremony was that the schedule and the way it would be conducted were not properly announced.

The announcement decision about the graduation ceremony was made only two days ago, which forced the department to delay the announcement. If they are improved, the gap between the face-to-face and the non-face-to-face ceremonies will not be severe. Students can't see the graduation ceremony that was celebrated in one place, but they can see a heartwarming image of congratulations without face-to-face contact.
