If you want to study English conversation for free using your smart phone, why don't you use an application, called Cake? It is based on YouTube videos and it has many movie clips, dramas, TV shows and so on.

You can practice speaking by repeating foreigner's recorded voice and your speaking can be evaluated directly. You can use this application without log-in after installing the application. Even, there is no advertisement in this application. I interviewed a user who used it to practice English speaking.

Q1: What was the best thing while you were using this application?

A1: The best function was 'the conversation of the day' that is updated every day. I could choose if i wanted to see the translation of each sentence. After listening to the foreigner's speaking sound and repeating it, my speaking level is evaluated as A, B or C etc. The missing part or wrong part while I was speaking is checked, so I can correct the wrong part meticulously. After these phases, you can read the explanation about related words and additional example sentences including the expressions used in each sentence.

Q2: What was the interesting function in this application?

A2: In conjunction with YouTube, users can also practice conversational sentences with short videos. The flame-shaped icon in the lower right corner of the screen stimulated the motivation for achievement by visually showing how much learning time I have achieved in a day.

A3: Users of this application can study English conversation efficiently using their spare time. This app consists of short and useful expressions that foreigners use often, so I was satisfied from learning them. If you are interested in English conversation and looking for an app that is free of charge, I recommend using the cake app. I think it is better than other applications.
