The newly coined word “kata (카따)” related to cyber school violence is spreading rapidly, which is short for “Kakao Talk bullying.” It is used in situations where many people in the group room intentionally leave the room with one person left or threaten to give up their Kakao Talk account.

Additionally, there is a “wifi shuttle” that takes unlimited data using smartphone hotspot functions and a “gifticon shuttle” that takes away mobile gift certificates. Looking at these new phrases, people should face the reality that cyber school violence is prevalent these days.

The School Violence Committee decided to pursue effective field-oriented tasks such as legislative maintenance, revitalization of cyber violence prevention education, and enhancement of teachers' capabilities to prevent and respond to cyber violence.

In addition, to strengthen the support for students affected by cyber bullying, the government will designate managers of students affected by cyber bullying at each Wee center and conduct training for professional counselors.

To educate students who commit cyber bullying, education standards have been prepared so that special education programs can include contents including punishment, internet ethics, and media literacy. To ensure that there are no more victims, active attention is needed through various campaigns and media education.
