Universities were selected as general financial support universities one after another as a result of the Ministry of Education's 2021 diagnosis of basic university competency.

A general financial support university refers to a university that can receive support for general finance, special purpose finance, national scholarships, and student loans.

According to the results of the 2021 university basic competency diagnosis notified to each university after deliberation by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Educational Development Institute, 136 general universities and 97 junior colleges nationwide were selected as general financial support universities. 

Daegu University received excellent evaluation in indicators consisting of items such as university development plan and performance, educational conditions and soundness of university management, academic management, curriculum, student support, and educational performance.

For three years starting next year, autonomous innovation according to the university's mid to long-term development plan such as self-adjustment of the quota and university innovation support projects will also be promoted.

It is expected that freshmen and students will also receive many benefits next year by carrying out various government support projects through financial support of about 12 billion won from the Ministry of Education over the next three years.
