The franchises Subway and Starbucks are opening on Daegu University campus at the end of August this year. These franchises are located near the main gate. Why did Daegu University choose to open these franchise stores?

These franchises have many things in common. First, both franchises are high in demand. They’re known to most people and are often the most visited places especially during rush hours, since people always want their freshly brewed coffee to start their day and of course purchase a healthy meal.

Second, the marketing will most likely be successful. For example, Apple and Samsung are mobile phone brands that many people are aware of. Out of these two, people most often choose Apple over the latter. In line with this, Starbucks and Subway have the same principle when it comes to marketing.

Starbucks also sends a lot of Kakao Talk gifts in Korea. This is because most people either love it or hate it. The fact that the company also makes seasonal goods and only sells them for that season has also become part of their success through marking.

Subway is also known as serving healthy food. That's why people on a diet prefer to eat there often. In addition, there is a wide range of menu choices and an option to customize your own order.

Considering these advantages it is expected that these franchises will be of great benefit for Daegu University, especially for the students who eat unhealthy food. Now there’s an option for them to eat healthier and at the same time buy an affordable meal.

Recently when I went to Subway, many people were lining up to order and eat food. I interviewed a few of them about what they felt after dining.

Person 1 - I live in a dormitory and I’ve been eating a lot of instant food, so I felt like it could be harmful to my body. However, Daegu University is planning to open a Subway store so I think this is a good opportunity to eat healthily.

Person 2 – I’m one of those people who have liked Subway in the past. Sometimes when I was craving it, I had to travel to Hayang just to satisfy myself. I’m glad that we’re finally going to have a Subway nearby.

Person 3 - I often go to Subway. The good thing about Subway is their menu range and various sauces, so I'm very satisfied that I can finally eat with excitement every day.

In general, most people are satisfied with this franchise, saying that it's more convenient now that it’s nearby.

The answer to "Will the campus pedestrian traffic increase due to the entry of Starbucks and Subway at the main gate of Daegu National University?" can be expected to be positive. As a result of the interview, I think many people will come to visit more often.
