The voice of students who demand that the university should extend the operating hours of Changpa Library is getting attention. Currently, Daegu University operates three libraries including the study hall, Changpa Library, and the 24-hour study hall.

The school operated Changpa Library only in the 1st semester of 2021 to prevent the spread of Covid-19. But as time has gone on, the school has been gradually returning policies to the way they were before the pandemic.

Most students hope to study in places where they can study freely and efficiently. However, since the opening hours and days shifted due to the Covid-19 policy of the school, students reluctantly chose the library to study in because it is less free and less comfortable to use than before the pandemic.

Changpa Library used to be an option for many students. But as previously stated, the shifted opening hours of Changpa Library prevented the library from being a good option for many students. Students inevitably gave up studying in Changpa Library.

Changpa Library only operates on Mon-Fri from 8:00-21:00. During two weeks before each period for the final and midterm exams, opening hours are extended to Sat-Sun from 8:00-21:00. Students demand that the library should begin operating on weekends even in normal circumstances. 

Some criticize expanding the operating hours as an unnecessary waste of budget. However, students who insist that their voices should be heard said that the budget should be used to promote the school. They expressed their desire to guarantee students' academic rights more than to attract new students.
