Former President Moon, returned to his residence in Pyeongsan village in Yangsan, Gyeongsangnam-do at around 3 p.m. on the 10th of May, 2022. He spoke to the villagers and supporters who welcomed him in front of the Pyeongsan Village Hall. 

With a smiling face he said, "I'm really looking forward to a second life and a new start here and I'm a free man," Moon walked about 400 meters from the town hall to his private home, shaking hands and high-fiving with his supporters. 

Former President Moon went into the private residence after waving to the citizens who gathered across the street with Mrs. Kim Jung-sook for the last time. Since then, it has been reported that the residents were invited to the Moon's private residence for a tea meeting. 

During his presidency, Moon worked for the people, including improving inter-Korean relations, enhancing women's rights, expanding local quotas, expanding military welfare, and petitioning for the people of Cheong Wa Dae. 

He tried to communicate, which led to a successful retirement ceremony. It is said that 10,000 citizens gathered to see his inauguration. "I received a very nice retirement ceremony from the public yesterday when I came out of the Blue House," former President Moon said.

"It was not an official event and it was not planned by the Blue House, but many Seoul citizens gave me a very touching retirement ceremony. It was a very meaningful gift that no president has ever received before".

He thanked all the people and returned to his home. Now he will probably spend the rest of his life in his hometown. His appearance as the 19th president of South Korea will be recorded as a part of history.
