The term "Narcissistic" come from Greek and Roman Mythology. It is named after "Narcissus", who drowned while trying to see himself reflected in the water. Narcissistic is based on the love of one's self - cherishing and loving themselves.

In one point of view narcissism could be confused with self-esteem, but unlike self-esteem narcissism shows a few features; sef-entered, arrogant thinking and behavior, and exploitative interpersonal relationships. 

Narcissism is grouped as a mental disorder due to those features above. In this way, It's named "Narcissistic personality disorder" by DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders). Nowadays many research shows that narcissism is a significant variable of SNS Addiction. Based on few features, narcissistic could be put into two group, Covert-who display their character to others and inverted-who don't.

Though mediated or moderated by many other variables like social anxiety and interpersonal relationship problems, it's true that SNS could be considered attractive to inverted narcissistic people, who don't want to show themselves as great in the real world.
