Environment Preventing Climate Change
ÀÌ¹Î¾Æ | ½ÂÀÎ2022.11.05 00:17

With Typhoon Hinnamnor bringing extreme damage to the southern coast of South Korea and the heaviest rainfall in 115 years causing floods in Seoul, it's safe to say that South Korea is no longer safe from climate change and the consequences it brings.

Climate change has a profound impact when it comes to extreme weather events. Europe having its hottest summer since the renaissance this year and New York always having floods are two examples.

The term climate change refers to any natural long-term changes in the composition of the entire atmosphere caused by human activity. Because we humans burn fossil fuels that produce carbon dioxide, our planet gets warmer like a giant greenhouse.

Most transportation—cars, planes, and ships—run on fossil fuels. Powering buildings and generating electricity also burns fossil fuels, contributing to greenhouse gas emissions.

Then, how can we prevent climate change to get our normal weather back?

Turn off the lights and screens when unused we leave the room or do not need them. You could also unplug any electronic devices to prevent any power from being on in the first place. Now that we humans have changed the climate's state, it is time to take responsibility and take steps to undo the damage that we've done.
