Have you heard of or experienced DUDO mentoring? DUDO mentoring is a program unique to Daegu University. I participated in this program last semester, and I would like to write this article to recommend it to you.

DUDO mentoring begins by assigning one mentor to one mentee. The purpose of this program is to build intimacy through mentoring activities between mentee students and mentor students to form a culture of empathy and communication, and to promote a sense of belonging.

Mentors and mentees are often in the same department, and if they are in different departments, they match similar departments from the same college as much as possible.

The program starts with a launching ceremony and orientation, which involves only mentors. Mentors receive an overview of the mentoring they are going to do and are able to make plans.

After that, mentors and mentees each take time to experience fifteen hours of college life. You must complete a double psychological test program. The content of the mentoring is not restricted, so mentoring is conducted based on what mentees and mentors want.

Mentors should submit activity reports and summary evaluations, while mentees should submit activity reviews. After all these activities, the completion ceremony will be held and the mentoring will end.

The advantage of this program is that it helps one mentee and one mentor connect and continue. Unlike school life before university, no one forces you to do something and no one tells you what to do.

So students often desperately need a mentor. I would like to recommend this program to freshmen, particularly students who have difficulty adjusting to college and students who want to help other students.
