Drugs have often appeared in the news lately. There have been various types of drug related news, including celebrity drug use and crimes using drugs. It is certain that the frequency of drug-related issues has increased compared to the past.

Most recently, famous actor Yoo was investigated for habitual use of propofol. After confiscating items and searching two of Yoo's residences, the police asked the National Forensic Service for a detailed evaluation of the personal items they secured, and they tested positive.

In order to present it as direct evidence of medication, the police are expected to further examine the causality in the summoning investigation. Yoo said, I have nothing to say at the police summons notice.

Drugs are not limited to actors, broadcasters and singers. On September 13, the Gangnam Police Station arrested a man in his 40’s who was openly taking drugs at an outdoor table at a caf in Gangnam. In July, a customer and an employee who drank alcohol with drugs died at an entertainment bar in Gangnam.

Online and SNS have become easy places to get drugs by searching for only drug slang. In particular, drug use in people aged from teenagers to their 30’s is increasing significantly. Drug trafficking is strictly non-face-to-face.

A prosecutor with a lot of experience in drug investigation said, An easier trading environment has been created for drug users, and an environment that is more difficult to investigate has been created.

Korea is no longer a drug-clean country. Now everyone should be wary of drugs and work hard to eradicate drug crime.
