These days there is a lack of clear boundaries between smoking and non-smoking areas within the Daegu University campus. Given this situation, here are three specific improvement measures and solutions.

1. The Daegu University campus is very huge, so people can’t find smoking areas very easily.

- Install a smoking booth in the university and confirm that it can be seen that it is a smoking area even from a distance. Many students should then be able to recognize this when they enter the campus.

2. The non-smoking area sign is not translated into other languages.

- Make it easy for international students to understand by using various languages on non-smoking signs.

3. Smoking in non-smoking areas is not recognized as a big problem.

- That solution is to make a regulation or penalty so that smoking in a non-smoking area is recognized as wrong.

Those who smoke in non-smoking areas and cause harm are responsible for all Korean students, foreign students, and outsiders. It’s not the fault of a specific group.

The most frequently found place (smoking in a non-smoking area) is right in front of the main entrance of each college building. The main entrance of the buildings and the smoking areas are close so smokers seem like they are in the smoking area, but just because it's close doesn't mean you can smoke it there.

Many smokers at the university already follow the rule of smoking in designated areas. however, the actions of a few can lead to criticism and discomfort for the entire community. Practicing a small degree of consideration can create a more pleasant environment for all students, so it is essential to cultivate behavior that is suitable for an educational institution.
